Baldness and hair loss has been a problem for men and women. Hair transplant is a technique of hair restoration in which hairs are picked up from the back and the sides of the head and then transplanted in the bald area of the head.

Hair transplant technique is not recommended for the individuals who have very less hairs at the sides and back of the head. The candidates for the surgical treatment like mini-grafts should have dense hairs in the donor areas. Hair transplant surgery is a safe procedure if performed by the qualified and well experienced surgeon. An unnatural patchy look results after the treatment.

Hair transplant surgery is usually performed in the physician’s office facility or in the surgery center as an outpatient. In very rare cases a hospital stay is required for few days. General anesthesia is used in the tissues expansion and flaps. Hair transplantation involves removing the small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts from the donor areas and relocating the hair-bearing scalp grafts to the bald area on the head. Normally different surgical sessions are required to get the satisfactory results.
The scalp is covered with gauze after the grafting session. After the incisions are healed you may need more follow-up procedures to get the more natural look.
