Maintaining healthy nails is not complicated as many people think. Nails are the important part of the hand and they should be treated with great care. Nails need to be look neat, clean and healthy for your hands to be beautiful.
Nails require a bit of nail polish and regular application of the hand cream on the hands to provide the moisture. Frequent splitting of the nails is a symbol of the dehydration. French manicure is good for keeping the nails healthy, clean and good.

Following are the common nail disorders Paronychia Paronychia is an inflammation of the nails that is caused by the excessive exposure to the moisture. Exposure to fungus and bacteria can cause infection that leads to the swelling of the nail folds with sever pain. |
Paroncychia can be treated by applying the topical antifungal and antiseptic cream or lotion, by taking antibiotics and by draining the nail folds. If you are facing the symptoms of the Paronychia then try to wear gloves and avoid exposure to water.
Onycholysis
The nail separates from the nail bed and the most common causes of this condition are physical injury, drug reaction, psoriasis and fungal disease.
Spoon Nails
In this condition soft nails look scooped out. Depression and iron deficiency are the causes of this condition.
Half-and-Half
In this condition a brownish discoloration appears in the form of arc and it appears in the people who have kidney problems.
Following are the useful nail care tips.
- Never scrape off nail polish or use metal instruments on the nail because this can scrape off the protective cells on the nail surface.
- Apply hand cream or moisturizers after washing hands and the cuticles should remain the moisturized with a lotion or Vaseline because cuticles protect the nail roots from bacteria.
- To keep your nails healthy, make sure that you take vitamins, minerals, protein and other important nutrients to keep your nails strong and healthy.
- To remove dirt from your hands and nails, keep your hands in the soapy water for few minutes.
- Try to use nail polish remover as little as possible at least once in a week because nail polish removers tends the nails to dry out. Dry nails can crack and split more easily.
- Keep away from the habit of nail biting because it is destructive to nails and cuticles and it can leads to the infections.
- Dip your fingers in the half lemon and twist back and forth to clean the nails and fingers.
- Healthy nails have blood beneath them so they should look transparent and pink.
- Massage the hands for five minutes to regulate the blood circulation in the hands area.
- For making the nails shiny, wash them with the coconut oil or warm castor oil.
- To make the soft nails harder, soak them in warm olive oil for 15-20 minutes on the alternative days.
- Use petroleum jelly on your nails and rub it after few minutes with cotton for getting natural nail polish.
- To safe the nails from cracking apply clear coat of polish every night.
