To begin yoga eye exercises, sit comfortably in a straight back chair, feet flat on the floor, one hand resting on each thigh. Close your eyes and slowly take a deep breath through the nose. Hold the breath for a few seconds, then slowly exhale through the nose.
Step 1: With eyes closed, focused your gaze at the space between your eyebrows. Hold for two normal breaths. Open your eyes and blink a few times, then close and repeat the inward gaze.
Step 2: With head facing forward, slowly move your eyes as far to the right as possible. Hold for five seconds, then return eyes front. Now move your eyes as far to the left as possible. Hold for five seconds, then return your gaze forward. Repeat the right-to-left movements three times, then close your eyes for 10 seconds and rest.
Step 3: Keep your head facing forward and move your eyes up, as if trying to look at the ceiling. Hold for five seconds, bring them back to the starting position, then move your gaze down, as if trying to look at the floor. Repeat three times, then close and rest. Remember to keep your head perfectly still throughout these exercises.
Step 4: Slowly roll the eyes clockwise, in a complete circle. Repeat three full circles, then reverse direction and make three counterclockwise circles. Close your eyes and bring them to the forward position.
Step 5: Rub the palms of your hands together vigorously for 15 seconds to generate heat, then place them over your closed eyes, with the heel of your hand resting on your cheekbone. Rest with eyes covered for one-half minute.
Step 6: Make an ‘X’ with your eyes by moving them diagonally from the extreme upper right to the extreme lower left. Repeat three times, then rest with eyes closed for a few seconds.
Step 7: Make the letter ‘U’ by first looking up to the extreme right, then dropping the gaze down, then repeat three times from left to right. Close your eyes, rub palms together, and cover the eyes for one-half minute.`

Now keep an eye open for the latest eye make up tricks and ways to apply eye shadow. If you have sensitive eyes that blink a lot, try using a hand mirror and look down into it. Before making up eyes check that foundation is smooth, dark rings are camouflaged and all powder is settled.

Attend to the eye brows. Check them first for length, thin it if necessary and brush up wards for an instant wide awake look. Don `t make mistake of having brows too short or sloping off up ward, giving you a surprised expression, to determine where they should start and finish. Hold a pencil against the side of your nose.

The point will indicate the start. Then swing the pencil in an arc to the outer corner of the eye. The point will indicate the end of the brow. Brush brows in to shape before plucking out stray hairs from underneath the brows and from between the brows. If your skin is sensitive and brows look red after ward, dab with freshener, but do it before starting make up. If brows are sparse fill in with light feathery strokes, using an appropriately coloured eye brow pencil. Now start with your eyes. Take an eye pencil, check first that is soft enough, then line the lids top and bottom, preferably out side the lashes keeping hand steady and pencil at a flattish angle to the eye. Stop the line short of the inner corners of the eye to avoid a narrowing effect.

If eyes are close set, keep to the outer halves of the lids only. Use the same pencil to emphasize the natural contour of the eye at the crease. Choose the shadow tones that are well with your eye pencil, smudge it over the upper lids, blending it down into the line and up into the crease. You can continue building with colour here, in order to intensify the effect. Continue colour out to the sides of the eyes, add high lighter to brow bone. Use clean fingers or applicator and blend outwards. Now take your eye liner and make a wider than usual line above the lashes and under the eye to enlarge your eye.

Curl your eye lashes with eye lash curler, and apply several thin coats to underneath as well as to top side lashes. Then remove any excess with a brush separating lashes as you do so. TO MAKE SMALL EYES APPEAR LARGER

Line in side of lids with soft white pencil. Use a smoky grey or brown pencil underneath lower lashes. Finish with black mascara. LIFT DROOPY EYES. By drawing a thin line at the inner corner of upper lid and steadily widening it so that it covers the outer corner of the lid entirely.

BRING DEEP SET EYES FORWARD

By lining outer halves of upper and lower lids with darkish pencil, then apply a lighter shadow over the pencil and smudge out. WIDEN EYES SET TOO CLOSE TOGETHER. Shade a dark triangle across the outer corner of the upper eye lid.

The skin around the eyes is perhaps the most sensitive of all, because the hypodermis which exists everywhere else, is lacking here. You can never take too much of your eyes being so busy in everyday life. Don’t ill-treat them. Although you cannot actually ‘strain’ the eyes they can feel strained, particularly if concentrating for long periods of time. Concentration is wearing for the eyes because the muscles controlling them are held in a fixed position and do not allow the eyes to swivel as they would normally and because you literally forget to blink. The normal blinking should be at every two to four seconds done to every ten seconds or so when reading or doing some thing with concentration. After an hour’s solid concentration, your eyes feel sore and tired. Avoiding eyestrain blink your eyes rapidly. Slices of fresh cucumber or wool pads soaked in milk, over the eyelids are better to cool, soothe and rest the eyes and thereby to relax the eye muscles. Even better go to sleep. When moisturizing the face, never put cream on to the area directly around the eyes. When you are eyes creams or shadows on to the lid, always use the lightest possible touch, massage lightly, without exerting pressure. Work from the base of the nose to the temples. Never rub your eyes. Instead of rubbing them, blink your eyelids, which gives them the most natural massage. Shut your eyes as tightly as you can, then drop them as wide as you can. Repeat this exercise four to five times, making sure to keep your eyebrows well lifted. Only the eyelids must move. Keep your forehead and face muscles still. This is an excellent exercise for the muscles.

let the eyes have plenty of rest. Giving them rest at night is not enough. During the day, now and again, put the palms of your hands over your eyes and relax.

To keep your eyes sparkling, give them plenty of exercise. Roll your eyes around 20 times to the left and 20 times to the right, taking care to close the lids when changing directions. Or look at yourself in a mirror, staring straight at the pupils of your eyes, five minutes at each eye. This is a splendid exercise.

Bath your eyes. To decongest them, there is nothing like an eye-lotion, which is readily available in a chemist shop. Bathe your eyes and do not be afraid to keep your eyes wide open. The lotion moistens the mucus, which is temporarily dried up by the constant action of clearing the eyes of the thousands of dust particles and other impurities. Don’t be afraid to blink using the eye-bath. Witch-hazel or camomile flower compresses are also excellent for decongesting the eyes. Eyebath with salt water solution in a weak is also good. Dissolve one teaspoon of salt in 600 ml/ 1 pint(2 ½ cups) of cold, boiled water.
